Pyranha Theft

Message from Pyranha:

Some of you might have heard on the grapevine that Pyranha has suffered a
robbery. Over the weekend of the 4-5th Aug the yard at Rivington Road was broken into and a number of boats were stolen: Acro 270 Blue/White and Yellow/Jaffa
Acro 275 Yellow/Jaffa Ina Zone 232 Blue/White G3 Blue /White Recoil S Rapid +
Yellow/Jaffa Recoil M Rapid + Blue/White Recoil L Rapid + Blue/White,
Yellow/Jaffa, Burn L Blue/White Red/Grey, Yellow/Jaffa Burn M Blue/Grey
Jaffa/White Blue/White Ammo M Lime/Grey, Lime/White, Blue/White, Jaffa/Grey, Jaffa/White Ammo L Yellow/Grey, Red/Grey, Blue White, Yellow Jaffa lMaster TG
Yellow/Jaffa

As ever with any boat purchase please make sure there is a serial
number on the boat (normally on the rear deck) virtually no kayaks are sold from
any manufacture without a serial number being present. Some of the boats are
also in new 2008 colours and so will stand out even more. If you are suspicious
of any new Pyranha boat you have been offerd(especially those from the back of a
van!) please note the registration No of the vehicle and get as much detail off
the seller as possible and contact Pyranha with the information and/or serial No
if possible and we will be able to verify that a boat is genuine or otherwise.

There is a £1000 reward for anyone who passes on information that leads to a successful prosecution.
Please keep your eye and ears open. Thanks for your assistance. Bob Campbell

Ocean Paddler - Issue 2!

Issue 2 is now out; for more details click here.

The subscriber copies left in the post earlier this week, and I know that some of you have recieved it already as I've had a couple of messages from people telling me it's arrived and they're enjoying it.

If you haven't subscribed, the shop copies are on their way to the shops at the moment, so you'll be able to buy from the shops that stock OP from mid-week onwards.

We still have a few Issue 1's left. If you didn't susbcribe in time to get issue 1, or you didn't buy it in the shops, then it can be ordered as a back issue here.
I hope you enjoy reading it; we've listened to your feedback on Issue 1 and we'd be interested to hear what you have to say on Issue 2. And Simon, yes we've included maps... ;-)

T-Shirt Problems

After washing, for the first time, the new 'Ocean Paddler' t-shirts that we have been wearing , both Richard and I have noticed that the white print on the back of the t-shirt has started to flake off. This has also happened to a couple of people that had t-shirts straight out of the box on the day they arrived to us.

Clearly, this isn't what we want from our t-shirts and is not acceptable, so we've gone back to the company that supplied us with them. They are looking into the problem and it is highly likely that we have been sent a batch of faulty t-shirts. The suppliers have asked for a couple of days for them to test the t-shirts, but have already indicated that they will replace all/any faulty t-shirts. If the entire batch is wrong, then they'll replace all of them.

For the time being, it would be a great help to us if you would let us know if you have experienced similar problems with our t-shirts.

As soon as I know more, I will let you know. Apologies for this, it's not what we really wanted and having chosen the supplier because they're known to us, we're really disappointed

Royal Mail Industrial Action

Staff at the UK's Royal Mail, our postal delivery service, are continuing their series of strikes throughout August. The latest update from the Royal Mail is available here.

For Ocean Paddler, this means that we have been, and no doubt will continue, experiencing delays in our deliveries being received by our customers. Equally, we're not receiving post to us on time.

Hopefully, this won't go on too much longer; issue 2 is nearly upon us (more details here) and we'll have a lot of envelopes to send out!
